2.Proper noun ( විශේෂිත නාම )

Specific people, places, things

3.Abstract noun

Something that you can not perceive (තේරුම් ගැනීම, දැකගැනීම)  with your 5 senses

Belief, love, pride, happiness … etc

4.Concrete noun

Something that you can perceive with your 5 senses

Apple, lion, eyes, flower …. Etc

5.Countable noun (ගණන් කළ හැකි)

Can be counted

Pencil, apples, train, clock … etc

6.Uncountable noun (ගණන් කළ නොහැකි)

Cannot be counted

Milk, music, food, water, rain, rice … etc

7.Compound nouns

Made up of two or more smaller words

Text + book à textbook

Sea + food à seafood

Post + office à  post office

Sun + flower à sunflower

8.Singular nouns (ඒක වචන )

Refer to one person, place, thing or idea

9.Plural Noun (බහු වචන)

Refer to more than one person, place, thing or idea

Refer to a collection as one whole
